Home, sweet home (2025) (ongoing)
Massive housing complexes sprang up in Gurgaon during the early 2000s, and most used cheap aluminium frame sections for exterior windows/doors. Jump into 2025, and the sections are getting close to their lifespan, often starting with broken edges and locks. Most residents change them with new uPVC frames using companies like Fenesta/Lingel, etc.
Our house went through a similar transition, and we were suddenly left with a lot of old Aluminium sections. This product series uses those leftover sections to create playful forms of seating and lights in an attempt to question the properties of material v/s their function.
The project is currently at its prototype stage, where I’m working with a local fabricator to design a system of junctions and finishing options.
